Today, Thursday November 15th is day we'll get to see the final installment of the Twilight Saga.
We'll be at Vue Cinema's in Dublin for the midnight screening, and we just hope that where ever you are, you're excited, emotional, overwhelmed and you've got someone's hand to hold!Make sure you post on our Facebook page telling us how you feel - it's gonna be intense. End of an era!
You, the Fandom.
I can't post about the last installment of Twilight without talking about what for me has mattered the most. And that's the fans. Through the fandom of Twilight I have found FanFiction (a creative way to keep characters alive and develop writing skills), a heap of other sci-fi-fantasy-urban-romance-books, best friends*, I have developed skills (running events, running a site, running a facebook page, networking with cool people who give us prizes to give away - shout out to Vue Cinemas (esp Steven), Movies.ie, Warner Bros Ireland, Easons and more, AS WELL AS working with people who dont want to work with us - no shout out to the reluctant PR companies involved!). It's all been a journey to try get Irish fans on the map, and I think we did well enough. At the end of the day, we have each other and we ROCK. An example of how much Twilight fans rock is the sort of random stuff they get up to like this video, which is HILARIOUS....
Anyway, we've all spent countless hours in each others company, queueing to get into premieres, to buy the soundtrack when it's released, to laugh and cry as our favorite actors make or break it outside of their Twilight careers - and it's not over yet. While Twilight has been what united us, it is not the only thing we have in common.
We're all passionate, accepting and supportive. Those are some of my favorite characteristics of the friends I've made through this fandom, who'll stay with me LONG after Twilight.
A special shout out to Jessica Moran who has more-or-less run this site and the midnight event for the last six months, she is a one woman show constantly working in the background for no praise or recognition and she deserves that and more! Big <3 from me (confusingly also named) Jess and all the Irish Twilight Fans and Sisters out there!
I leave you with Bella's Lullaby, a song that still moves me.
And a random selection of photos from past events...
Enjoy Breaking Dawn Part Two, be sure to post on our page and tell us how much you loved it - and remember, stay crazy Fandom!

"I am so honored and excited to be involved again in this final film and soundtrack," says singer/songwriter Christina Perri. "I’m also super happy ‘A Thousand Years’ is making a comeback, but it’s not the same... you'll just have to wait and see how."

Academy Award winner Bill Condon directed both films, which star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. “THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN – PART 2,” based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, is written by Melissa Rosenberg, with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing.

Did you know Stephenie Meyer wrote other books, namely 'The Host, which will be out in cinemas from 29th March 2013? Summary and trailer below!
Summary (from the book jacket) Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed.
Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves - Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.
